St Paul's Open Day

To promote the climbing wall and to launch part of the MY Adventure project, we held an Open Day on Friday 20th August between 1 and 3.30pm.  There were around 46 young people in attendance and 18 members of the community or staff from other agencies came along to see what St Paul’s has on offer!

There was a great atmosphere with people of all ages enjoying a wee sandwich and cup of tea or a home made smoothie, with plenty to do such as sing star, pool, table tennis and arts and crafts.  The climbing wall was also open so we had many children climbing to find lollipops stuck in the holds and a few races to see who the fastest climber in North Edinburgh is!!

Chris Wintrup and Jack Harvey share the record at the moment – we are hoping to have more competitions and open days in the future so please get training and see if you can beat them!!!!

A discount voucher will be sent to all those who attended on the day to say thanks for making the day a success and a fun experience!

Become a member of MY Adventure!!! Open to any community group or charity!!

All you have to do is fill out the membership form and return to the address below.  It costs £25 per year and entitles you to discounted rates for ALL activities!

Quest 2010

The Quest was always one of the highlights of North Edinburgh's Summer Programme of youth activities and 2010 proved to be one of the best of them all!

Around 80 young people from all of the area's youth groups took part in this year's challenge which finished with a barbeque at a mystery destination!!!  Intrigued?

Harry

Harry & Amy's Time in Uganda

Amy Henderson is a young woman who wants to play football with local children in UGANDA.  MYDG has partnered with another youth agency in Namugongo. Amy Henderson is going to join Harry Munro (picture on left) also from Muirhouse to volunteer with young orphans and promote fair play during world cup.

Harry has been volunteering in Namugongo for almost a year.  During that time he is working with children affected and infected by HIV and Aids.  The charity with whom he works provides breakfast and support to 1200 young people per day.
In October 2010 a group of 13 young people from Muirhouse and North Edinburgh will join Harry in working with the children in Namugongo.
